[attr="class","likedoinfo"]This is an overview of each of the Membergoups we have here on Free-Falling! A character may only come from one of these and it does determine what their fighting style may be to some degree. Each of the groups which are Magicals below have the ability to transform into a form, similar to stereotypical Magical Girls.
The Magicals of the Wisher group have all received their powers from a heartfelt wish. Some might have wished on shooting stars, perhaps a lucky pendant or even just wished without a receiver. One thing that they all had in common however, is that each and every Wisher's wish was something they wanted from the very bottom of their hearts. The Wishers each have a small pendant that hangs around their neck which transforms into their weapon of choice in battle. This item also doubles as their transformation item. Whatever power a Wisher receives is based on the wish itself. So say the wish was to 'always see my family' then they could be granted the gift of prophetical sight and related combat-based abilities. However not all wishes turn out pure like their intentions. Some may become corrupted and used for selfish reasons...
A Magical of the Familial group is one that was granted abilities from a magical creature from a mysterious unknown part of this planet. In other words, a Familiar. This familiar grants the abilities of the Magical and the magic granted all depends on the type of Familiar that grants them. As an example, a Budgee Familiar may grant the Magical the ability to change their physical form into a bird-esque figure. A Familial requires their Familiar to be in close proximity to transform. No matter what happens, a Familiar will feel the responsibility to take care of and mentor the Magical they bestow their power upon. Familiars may be applied for, but only once a per-existing Magical agrees
The Magicals of the Objectal group gained their abilities through an external inanimate object. It can be anything from a pendant or mobile phone to something as obscure as a tea lamp. However one thing they each have in common is a personal connection to the Magical that uses them. The way that magic appears in these object is unknown, only that the Magical in possession of them would have to go through a traumatic or life-changing experience to get it to activate. Any magic given to the Magical has a theme based around the object that grant it. For example a Magical wielding Headphones may have sound-based magic. But each Magical has their weaknesses and the weakness of an Objectal is that should they drop or have their item stolen, then all their magical abilities fade as does the ability to transform.
Unlike the previous Magicals, those belonging to this group have had their abilities since birth. More than likely they also belong to a long-running line of Magicals with the same magical capabilities. Their powers have no specific restrictions, but they cannot have differing abilities from those of the same family. For example if a young boy Magical had offensive fire-based abilities then his female cousin would have the same abilities. In order to transform these Magicals do not require an item, but they do not possess a combat-specific item.
Magicals who belong to the Bestowed group began as normal people with nothing truly special about them. Nor do they have any sort of magical object. A Bestowed Magical is one which gained all of their magical power from the Bestowed that came before them. This group of Magical is generally born on the battlefield and have the most difficulty coming to terms with their power due to the fact that their Predecessor must be on the brink of death to pass on their magical skills. This is done through a touch on the forehead and the magical symbol of whatever abilities the previous Bestowed had appears somewhere on the newly Bestowed's body. When transforming, the clothing of the transformed state appears from this symbol. Magicals of this group do not have a combat-specific item.
This is not a group belonging to the Magicals. Unlike Magicals, the Mystics are humans who have the ability to use magic without transforming. They are more akin to sorcerers or mages than to the Magicals and learn their magical ability through study or learning. Many Mystics prove powerful allies to Magicals... or great enemies.
Should a Magical have yet to awaken into their power, they would be classified as Powerless. If you as a player are not sure what kind of Magical to make, then this is a good starting point. However this group is not limited to mere soon-to-be Magicals. Many normal Civilians can be created and placed in this group. Within this group you may also find gifted humans with skills such as Telekinetic skills or Telepathy which aren't available to the Magicals.
This is not a membergroup available on Free-Falling, but just as important to the overall premise. As explained in the Plot, a Parallel is another version of the Magicals found on the Planet from the Parallel world seen through the tears. These are creatable here on Free-Falling before their Planet-based counterpart are on-site. When they are created, they will be grouped in the same way that Planet-based characters would be in the groups available above but will more than likely have either a darker or lighter version of the Planet-based character's past. They have as much knowledge of the Tear and Parallel worlds as the Planet-based Magicals.
